  • Tip Of The Iceberg (Jesus Jones Mix) is one of my favourite old school hard techno tracks. I like Jesus Jones but i as far as i knew they were never producers or remixers of techno but regardless they cut an awesome piece of techno and 20 years on it still sounds good, at least to my ears anyway. At around 153BPM it is almost heading into hardcore territory with breaking effects and machine gunning the beats at the lead in's. At the 3.25 mark they drop in what sounds like to me like a guitar riff that has been heavily processed or a synth that sounds like a guitar but regardless when they drop this riff the 2nd time this track goes into overdrive, short lived but fucking amazing!!! My guess on the production here would be that Michael Wells & Lee Newman programmed all the beats & electronics, & mike Edwards from Jesus Jones provided the guitar work, that if it is indeed a guitar & not a synth. AnywayTip of the Iceberg could easily give a lot of the new school shit a good run for it's money. 5 out of fucking 5!!!
