Notes

A few months ago in April of '85 I first me this excellent harmony group, The Ellis Family Band. The group consists of brothers: Brian, Rick, Steve and Dave Ellis, plus Greg MacDonald. They come from Canada's smallest province located on the east coast. Prince Edward Island.

Producer, Larry Coad, and engineer Gene Rice had booked a session at our A.M.I. Recording Studio and thought I should give this young harmony group a listen. After hearing several cuts, I was impressed with their unique style of harmony. When the session was completed I had the opportunity to talk with the group and found that they not only snag exceptionally well, but they also had great writing talents.

Their first album released in Canada was very successful with four original singles being charted nationally. The group had also been nominated for "Country Group of the Year" in Canada in 1984 and 1985.

The Ellis Family Band impressed me so much with their talent, achievements and enthusiasm that I signed the group to A.M.I. Records. I'm sure after you listen to their album SUMMER NIGHTS, you'll agree with me, The Ellis Family Band is, in fact, a very unique group.
